Troubleshooting: Activation issues

If a show file won't unlock or activation doesn't go through, work through these. See also Activation and licensing.

Activating with a key

  • No internet: The key needs a one-time check with KeyboardTEK's server. Ensure machine is connected to the internet
  • Wrong key entered: Activation keys are 24 characters. Re-paste from the invoice email; don't retype.
  • Activation has ended: Go to Preferences (⌘, ), and the Activations tab to see your activation table. If your license has ended, it will say Expired

Activating with a .kta   file

  • Opening the wrong file: An activation file is very small, and seperate to the show file (.ktd ). Sure you are opening the correct file.

Confirming activation

When you open an activated show file, the bottom bar shows who the license is registered to and how many days remain.

Still not working?

  1. Restart KTPlayer.
  2. Restart the Mac.
  3. Try activated on a different user on your Mac
  4. Try activating show on a different Mac (your production license allows for activation on multiple machines).

If none of that helps, contact KeyboardTEK (support@keyboardtek.com) with the show file name, license information and your macOS version.
