The main interface and edit view explained

KTPlayer has two views of one cuelist:

• Main interface: for performance
• Edit view: for customization

Both share the same Masthead, Mixer, and Timeline; only the cuelist itself changes shape.

Main interface: what you see during the show

When you open KTPlayer and load a show file, you land in the main interface. Everything on screen is built for performance: knowing what's next, firing it, hearing what's playing.

• The masthead at the top tells you what cue is playing, as well as current tempo, vamp, and quantisation settings.
• The cuelist shows the sequence of cues for the show.
• The mixer below gives you live levels and per-channel routing.
• The timeline at the bottom tracks the playhead through the current cue.

You can show or hide the mixer and timeline.

Edit view: same cuelist, more columns

Press ⌘E  (or click Edit in the Bottom bar) and the cuelist switches to edit view. The Masthead, Mixer, and Timeline stay where they are. The cuelist itself sprouts a row of editable columns:

These let you customize the show to your production, overriding the defaults KeyboardTEK shipped in the show file. Most columns display in yellow once changed from their shipped value, so you can see at a glance what's been touched. (The Color column shows the chosen color itself, and Q is the one editable column that doesn't highlight.)

Edit view exists for preparing the show file. Playback stops when you enter it, and you can't start playback again until you switch back.

When you're prepping vs when you're playing

Work in edit view while preparing the show file. Switch back to the main interface to perform.
