How to set fade out and crossfade times

KTPlayer has two separate fade settings:

• Fade out: how long audio takes to fade when you press Stop. Global, applies to every cue.
• Crossfade (Xfade): how long audio takes to fade from one cue into the next when one cue runs into another. Per-cue.

Set the global Stop fade

This is the one to set first. It applies whenever you press Stop mid-cue.

1. Open Preferences: KTPlayer → Preferences (⌘, ).
2. Click the Behavior tab.
3. In Fade audio on STOP for, enter the desired duration in milliseconds.
4. Close the Preferences window. The new value applies to every Stop press from now on.

Set a per-cue crossfade between cues

Default is set to none. When a cue ends and the next one fires, KTPlayer can crossfade between them. This is useful when a cue is skipped: in some cases the audio might pop or sound unnatural without an Xfade.

1. Switch to edit view: View → Edit Cuelist (⌘E ).
2. Find the cue you want to crossfade out of. Double-click its Xfade cell. The cell becomes editable.
3. Type a value in milliseconds, from 0  to 1000 . Press Return  to confirm.
4. The cell displays the new value. If 0 , the cell displays -  and no crossfade happens.
